为纪念辛亥革命一百周年和中华人民共和国建国62周年，由中国电影局和新西兰电影委员会主办, 新西兰太平洋文化艺术交流中心承办的2011年(第七届)新西兰中国电影节将于11月11日-27日在奥克兰,惠灵顿,基督城与大家见面.
无论是中国电影节还是新西兰电影节的举办,都是中－新电影交流的连续平台， 今年的电影节又是庆祝辛亥革命一百周年和国庆62周年的活动之一． 所选的题材都是近1，2年在国内，国际电影大奖上获奖的主题影片．
随着中-新电影合拍协议的签署,中国电影人和新西兰电影人的交往越来越频繁,两国电影界之间的合作与日俱增.今年在云南昆明拍摄的爱情故事片<长别离>,在横店影视基地拍摄的宣传片<中国好莱坞>,都是以中国电影人的创作为基础,融入了新西兰电影和电影人的元素, 是中国与新西兰电影人合作的产物. 而入围于第二十届中国金鸡,百花奖的新西兰电影<我的婚礼和其他秘密>则是将新西兰华裔电影人的作品打入中国电影最高艺术奖项中的典范.显示着两国电影行业正在向互通互融,携手共进的合作大道上迈出的坚实步伐!
明年是中-新建交40周年,中心将与中国电影局和新西兰电影委员会再次携手合作,在中国举办第六届新西兰电影节.让电影组为中-新友谊的纽带长存于两国和两国人民的友谊之中.

在中国纪念辛亥革命100周年和中华人民共和国62周年国庆之际，第7届新西兰中国电影节在美丽的“花园之城”基督城与广大电影爱好者见面，我感到十分高兴。我谨对电影节表示热烈祝贺并对一切为电影节做出贡献的人们表示衷心感谢！
新西兰中国电影节是在中新关系充满生机与活力的背景下举办的。近几年来，两国的经贸关系逐步发展为多领域、多层次、多形式的合作，两国的文化交流日益频繁、形式丰富、内容多元化。尤其是中新两国签署的合作拍摄电影的协议在今年正式生效，这意味着两国文化更深层次的交融。
新西兰中国电影节的举办，为喜爱电影的新西兰观众提供了一个以艺术形式感受现代中国的机会。中国的深厚底蕴与不同侧面将在电影中一一展现。希望观众通过观赏这些影片，从多样的视角，走进中国广博而深厚的文化中，走进中国人丰富而多彩的内心世界，以了解这个历经五千年文明洗礼的国度和她的人民追求美好生活、创造和谐未来的不懈努力。让我们一起走进这场文化盛宴。

Thank you for your invitation to attend and speak at the Opening Reception of the 2011 Chinese Film Festival in New Zealand. I regret that I'm unable to attend, but I thank you for the opportunity to acknowledge the organisers of this festival, and convey my best wishes.
Chinese New Zealanders have been an integral part of our society, dating right back to the 1850’s gold fields. Members of the Chinese community have been industry pioneers and agricultural leaders in this country – including starting the first refrigerated diary product export route, an industry that is now worth billions of dollars to New Zealand’s economy.
Today the Chinese community in Aotearoa New Zealand continues to enrich our lives through, cuisine, culture and arts, and technology and innovation. Over the next week, New Zealanders will be exposed to Chinese culture, through film - with a genre range for everyone, from drama, comedy, and animation - to martial arts, adventure, and war.
The New Zealand Film and Screen Industry is a growing industry contributing around 2% ($2.873 billion) of New Zealand's overall GDP. Of the Film and Screen production companies operating in NZ , international companies contribute 42% ($304 million) to the industry. The Chinese Film Festival provides an opportunity to further promote New Zealand as a desireable filming destination to Chinese film makers.
We want the Chinese community to know they are valued and we encourage their participation in all aspects of life in New Zealand. We need the Chinese community to contribute knowledge about their home countries, share their connections within and external to NZ, support our entrepreneurial activities, and generate new and innovative thought.
I wish you a successful event this evening - and I look forward to watching some of the films on offer, here in Wellington.
